To better understand one’s heritage, studying literature is one of the most effective ways to better appreciate cultures and traditions. By means of literature, we can trail the rich custom handed to us by our ancestors.
Similar to the other races, literature helps us better understand ourselves more. There were many Filipino writers who were successful in the field of literature and known for their impressive works and dexterities. With their works, we are able to travel to different places, experience events, acquaint with various people and listen to them, and feel their happiness and pain. To keep it short, literatures abreast us and teaches us how to understand the how present.
As you go through this module, you will learn more about how literature works specifically in intensifying the essence of social responsibility. You will discover how stories are crafted by Filipino authors in line with their own experiences which call for action even today.
